First and foremost, I am honored and thrilled to announce that San Mateo County Supervisor Dave Pine and Millbrae City Council Member Annie Oliva have chosen to endorse me for SMFCSD Board Trustee. Thank you for believing in me!
The weekend was a whirlwind of activity!
Friday evening, my husband Tom and I had a fantastic evening celebrating our friend and high school classmate Karen Bonavia Bettucchi as the City of Millbrae's 2019 Woman of the Year. Both my husband and I grew up in Millbrae and our families still reside in our childhood homes, so it is extra meaningful to be honoring her as a resident of my family's community. She continues to selflessly give to and share her talents with those around her.
Saturday kicked off with a coffee chat hosted by Petra and Michael at their home. It was such an honor to meet former district educators, engaged community members, and non-profit leaders. I really enjoyed sharing my experiences and learned so much from the group.
Saturday afternoon, Burlingame Mayor Donna Colson, who has been incredibly generous with her advice and guidance through this election, joined me in precinct walking along the Burlingame/San Mateo border. Even though we may live in different cities, our residents spend time and income often on either side of the city line so we had a ton of super engaging conversations.
Sunday morning our son (6 years old) and I doubled down on making pancake art (griddle + ketchup dispenser is ultimate breakfast fun) and then I met up with my friends Penny and Katie to knock on doors and meet more of the community... 312 homes to be exact.
The best part of the weekend... I had the great pleasure of being able to personally thank several people for their votes and shake their hands.
